Everton’s Andre Gomes has been charged with violent conduct after his deal with on Aleksandar Mitrovic throughout Saturday’s Premier League defeat at Fulham, the Soccer Affiliation has introduced.

Portuguese midfielder Gomes appeared to stamp on Mitrovic in stoppage time in an incident which was not seen by referee Lee Probert.

“Everton’s Andre Gomes has been charged with violent conduct,” learn an FA assertion.

“This follows an incident within the 95th minute of the Premier League fixture in opposition to Fulham on Saturday [13/04/2019] that was not seen by the match officers however caught on video. The midfielder has till 18:00 on Tuesday [16/04/2019] to reply to the cost.”

Gomes escaped punishment from referee Probert, whereas Fulham, already relegated, gained the sport 2-0 thanks to goals from Tom Cairney and Ryan Babel.

Everton signed Gomes on a season-long mortgage from Barcelona in August final 12 months and he has been an everyday for Marco Silva’s facet this season, making a complete of 28 appearances.


Should the charge be upheld, the midfielder could face a three-match ban which would rule him out of upcoming fixtures against Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Burnley.

He has till 6pm on Tuesday to reply.
