‘ABUSIVE AND INSULTING’

Hector claimed she “obtained some monkey noises from an opposition participant” in an FA Ladies’s Championship recreation

Sheffield United Ladies’s ahead Sophie Jones has been charged by the Soccer Affiliation after racially abusing Tottenham Hotspur star Renee Hector.

In an FA Ladies’s Championship recreation between the 2 sides on January 6, Hector claimed she “obtained some monkey noises from an opposition participant”.

Jones has till February 15 to reply. She has been charged with utilizing abusive or insulting phrases, and it’s additional alleged they “included reference to ethnic origin and/or color and/or race”.

The Blades’ Ladies crew have confirmed they co-operated totally with the FA’s investigation.

“The membership works intently with the EFL, the FA and Kick it Out and want to reiterate that it doesn’t condone racism or any type of discrimination,” a club statement added.
